Mondovi - For the last time, Charlie the therapy pony will visit senior citizen residents inside American Luther-

King says the Shetland pony has been going inside senior living facilities all these years to help residents cope with
“Charlie’s visits have calmed residents, made them more relaxed and he always brings a smile to their faces”, King says.
Studies have shown patients dealing with dementia conditions like Alzheimer’s disease benefit from animal
King says the visits over the last 15 years have brought up stories about horses from residents. He says the visits are overwhelmingly positive and help residents recall key events in their past, exercising their mind.
King, along with Charlie’s owner Pat Bauer, will be able to talk about the amazing effect the pony has on residents at the facility. Some of those residents will also be available for interviews about Charlie’s amazing effect.
